Atomic Recalibrator

The toy places an engineering pad on the ground for a few minutes that, when stepped on, randomizes your character's race and gender for 60 minutes or until you right click the buff off. The transformation is not limited to your party or raid so you can place it in a high traffic area to watch people transform. Did not test if it is broken by combat or not.

I do not think it removes it. I am not entirely sure about that though

Fun toy, with [i]way[/i] too long of a cooldown unsurpisingly...

A few things:

[ul] [li] Clicking the toy will place the pad in front of you, it lasts for 3 minutes. The buff given to you that changes your appearance lasts 1 hour. [/li] [li] Walking into it will give you a random race and gender, including Allied Races, and even your own race and gender. I have not tested it enough but I have not received a Dark Iron, Lightforged, Mag'har, from this yet. [/li]t [li] This toy [i]does not require engineering to use, [/i]so it can be sold on the AH and used by any character. [/li] [li] The toy works on all players, whether they are in your group or not. That being said I believe some toys do override it, there was a 12ft tall Night Elf that wouldn't change looks when walking over it. [/li] [li] Dracythr can use this toy, though I haven't got a Dracthyr out of it from using it. I highly encourage everyone to witness the Soar ability of the Dracthyr whilst under this buff as you will be a naked Orc happily swimming in the sky, you also do [i]not[/i] to change form when in combat. I would not be surprised if fun is detected in the future and this gets changed. [/li] [li] Heritage armor sadly does not work with this, using this on my Gnome and Dwarf alts with their gear transmogged to it revealed the ugly clown armor beneath the transmog when they changed to any other race. When changing to the opposite gender of their own race it worked fine, unsurpsingly. Faction specific gear like the Alliance Warfront set does work fine on Horde races though. [/li] [li] Just like the [url=https://www.wowhead.com/item=112090/transmorphic-tincture]Transmorphic Tincture[/url], when changing your character it will translate your appearance to the other race. I.e: If you choose face 3 on your Human character, when you turn into an Orc it will use face 3. As such you'll get the same appearance of other races every time until you change your own character in the barbershop, which can be a little annoying since on my Human main I get some real ugly transformations based on my look... [li]

[li] Finally, it does work in combat as mentioned but also persists through death. [/li]

All in all, pretty fun. It's also currently selling for a small sum of 40k on my server so if you're not an Engi give it a few weeks for the price to chill out.

While it does persist through combat and mounting, shapeshifting of any kind will remove the effect.

[quote]Heritage armor sadly does not work with this[/quote] Just want to point out that as Light-Forged Draenei, I had Heritage transmogged on and got turned into Zand Male Troll wearing the LFD Heritage. I gotta say, he look pretty badass in it!

Another interesting thing to note is that your voice won't always match the gender/body you're granted. I turned into a Night Elf female with a Night Elf male's voice

Void Elf heritage has worked so far

Cooldown for such toy that can randomly change appearances of lots of players is more thank ok. Stop complaining. There always should be limitations for such chaotic toys. I would say even 12 hours is too short. 1 day would make sense. I just tried to use it Epic BG - its crazy

If you're a Shaman, Ghost Wolf cancels the buff... Same as any transporter malfunction. Sadness.

But they fixed it as of 10.0.5! Happiness!

IMHO, there is only one acceptable place to use this. The Door of the Auction House.

The Community Feast is also a great spot for it! ;)

I gotta try this! That 12 HR CD though. Ugh.

dragonbane keep will catch a lot of people after the boss kill just drop it near the entrance when people are rushing to mount up

this toy would have been much more fun if it didn't stay for less than 5 minutes with a 12 hour cd... what's the point really? this should have like a 2 hr cd if they don't want people to have it up at all times..

No its not. It should not be 2hr at all. Thats crazy thing to ask. Its too short in other hand. We have other toy ''Mysterious Coin" from WoD that changes ONLY your appearance with 1 day cooldown.

THE best thing in this expansion for all of those raiders whose guild went Horde in Shadowlands due to dead servers. 3 of these on your raiders and you can go back to being Alliance for an evening.

why does ghostwolf remove this buff while other toy buff doesnt get remove -_-

druid shifting shouldn't remove it either. :(

As of 10.0.5 the buff doesnt get remove anymore,omg good job blizzard lol

10.0.5 made it so that switching forms (druid, shaman, etc.) will not drop the appearance change, however, it's still a 12 hour cooldown which is outrageously long IMO.

The Pandaran form granted by this toy is an Alliance Pandaran. Good to know since PvP gear is funny on other factions. Some pieces show and some pieces don't.

Too bad it can't turn you into a Dracthyr...

But it can turn Dracthyr into other races.... kind of cool seeing Evoker as other races.

Definitely has void elf now. I got my undead turned into a darkfallen void elf by it yesterday night.

i know this is an older comment but i just got the toy and ive been messing with it for maybe 2 minutes and i already got a few of these, including lightforged draenei!

Dracthyr seems to be the only one missing still.

Night elf doesn't exist and troll is every other one.

What Fleety said, though I agree with you. Blizzard really hates fun so they put a long cooldown on nearly every toy or interesting cosmetic trinket they give us.

Absolutely great toy! They should just remove the Gnome transformation, it's just too ugly.

Yes, @Sheeraah,I know I can do that. My post was just a little [I]tender teasing[/I] of the Gnomes 😙. But of course I know that being ugly is an integral part of a Gnome, Gnomes are designed to be ugly. — If we want to play a [I]non-ugly shorty[/I], we have plenty of choices: Dwarves, Goblins, Dark Iron Dwarves, Vulperas.

Make this last 24 hours and make this change racial powers/passives too please.

For Dracthyr the form still persists even if you switch out of your Visage - meaning with the changes to the Soar ability, you can become a flying dwarf!

since 10.2.6 this seems to now include every race except dracthyr
