Doing this quest on my level 90, rushing through the dungeon, I was not able to complete the quest in one go. I killed everything in my path, but I would assume it needs to be done slower to give the mobs a chance to mutate or respawn (whichever it is).
I let boss Laj 'beat' on me for about one minute before killing it. It dropped the frond.

Description
It seems that Kael'thas' forces have twisted the Botanica's specimens beyond saving. I do not want to see them unleashed upon Outland as so many others have. There is one, Laj, who I would like to examine. He is different somehow. Perhaps we can learn from him.
