Culling the Herd is a dungeon quest for level 20-30 in The Botanica. It rewards 4,100 experience and money.
It seems that Kael'thas' forces have twisted the Botanica's specimens beyond saving. I do not want to see them unleashed upon Outland as so many others have.
There is one, Laj, who I would like to examine. He is different somehow. Perhaps we can learn from him.

I'm really disappointed they didn't call this "Culling the Herb"...
Doing this quest on my level 90, rushing through the dungeon, I was not able to complete the quest in one go. I killed everything in my path, but I would assume it needs to be done slower to give the mobs a chance to mutate or respawn (whichever it is).
I let boss Laj 'beat' on me for about one minute before killing it. It dropped the frond.
