Garbage for the Garbage God

This is such a surprisingly worthwhile quest.

I like how you can tell immediately that this ramshackle idol is important for Jani, he doesn't have a single joke, just asks that you bring him it. You can tell from the flavor text it's his first offering, and before you even turn it in, you get this sense of it being incredibly important.

Then he hits you with:

"I remember da orphan who first carved dis offering. I remember da tears and desperation and da hope for somethin' to save dem. I remember tastin' da power in dat hope.

And I remember da look of fear on da cruel richmon who made da child cry. "Never again" not just be hollow words with Jani."

I wonder if hope and that first offering was what led to Jani becoming a loa. I wonder if all loa require that from the people who believe in them, and they start out as that hope and those feelings before taking on other aspects, like winds, or healing, or elements, ect. Hope seems to be a reoccurring theme in this expansion either way.

Regardless, it's such an interesting quest, and is such an interesting facet to the Loa of Scavengers, that I've found myself pleasantly surprised after doing the Get Hek'd achievement. Even without the blessing, I feel like it was a worthwhile quest to complete, just to learn more.

Completing this chain, (which starts with looting [item=166506] from a chest at 46,30 by the Great Seal for Horde), lets you use [object=287332] as scrappers. Doing this on one character unlocks this for your alts, as well. I am guessing from the quest text you need to have Get Hek'd completed for it to show.
