If you're lost like me, look at the fires past the quest giver. The totem is in the water near the fires.
For me, the quest became available from Old Grimtusk only after i took the quest "Suffusion Camp" from Stellagosa from nearby Old Grimtusk, hope this helps.

Description
This was supposed to be a peaceful retirement, not a warzone! Grab one of those totems the shamans left lying around and put out these fires before my dreams of a nice fishing retreat go up in smoke! Literally!
