TheWoWDBYou can get the next quest, Slim Pickings, without doing Stiff Negotiations. But if you do, Stiff Negotiations becomes unavailable and you'll miss out on 15K XP and 4.5 gold. Which is quite a lot for a simple "Go to the next questgiver" quest.

It's a bit of an indirect route, I'd like to note. If you see Zort's quest indicator question mark on your right, there's a path up on your left. I tried climbing up the slope near the start of the Vice, but there was a block on that path. I also tried roguishly jumping down from above but kinda-sorta overshot his ledge, and well the less said about that the better. ;)
That done, the path on the left will take you upwards to his level, and then there's a bridge to take you to his side of the Vice.

Description
Well it seems you were of a bit of use after all. It's not been my experience to meet many a {race} that are. We don't have any more use for you here. Head into the Vice and see if my brother Zort could use a hand. He went to see if he could con the giants into laying down their lives so that we don't have to. He certainly wasn't known for having the brains in the family.
