This is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult than the other "lance bearing" quests to date. If you are not on your "A" game, you are dead.
From what I've gathered from other threads on this quest, you need to stay in the arena, or you will get booted very quickly. The mob you are fighting has a tendency to run out of the arena. Don't follow him out. Instead, try as much as possible to stay in melee range (the general consensus is that it is pointless to charge him). Keep shields up at all times, and shield break him when he runs but stay right on him so he can't charge.

I've succesfully beaten this quest for how many times now over the course of five days [abandoned and re-accepted it numerous times], yet is still does not give me the credit for defeating the argent champion in the jousting.
Blizzard hasn't answered my ticket in four days either. Getting a little sick of missing four days of dailies, I could've been about done with another faction by now if it wasn't for this screwy bug.
Squire Danny can be found at 68,20.

Description
You are nearly ready to compete in the grand melee. To prove yourself worthy of this honor, you must defeat a champion of the Argent Crusade. Go to the stables outside the pavilion, equip your lance, and mount up. Speak to Squire Danny at the Argent Valiants' Ring on the western edge of the grounds. The squire will call out your opponent when you're ready. After the battle is concluded, we will speak of the outcome.

- A Blade Fit For A Champion
I've heard that the Alliance champions are seeking after ancient blades for their warriors. We can't afford to let them have that kind of advantage. There's an old legend from Grizzly Hills about a maiden cursed with a frog's form to protect the blade she has long guarded.
- A Worthy Weapon
Of all the times to have such rotten luck! My tournament blade has gone missing. I've heard the bards telling tales of travelers offering winter hyacinths to a lonely maiden in return for gifts.
