Crafting estimate at current listings
No real market: too few listings for this price to mean anything yet.
- Reagent cost (lowest listed)
- 50 gold
- Crafted item, lowest listed price
- 18,888 gold59 silver
- Auction House cut (5%)
- 944 gold42 silver
- Estimated profit at that listed price
- 17,894 gold16 silver
Thin market: the crafted item’s lowest listing comes from very few current listings and sits far out of line with reagent cost. Treat this estimate as unverified until more listings accrue.
- Evidence: 1 current listing holding 2 units of the crafted item in the US region. We see listings, not sales, so how many sell and at what price is unknown.
- Outlier: the crafted item’s lowest listing is 74 times its 30-day median of 255 gold32 silver, so this estimate rests on a listing far above its usual level.

Where the reagents come from
Monarch Topaz. No recipe, Blizzard quest reward or dungeon journal drop in our game data produces it. Also a required reagent in 17 other recipes (14 Jewelcrafting, 1 Tailoring, 1 Engineering and 1 Alchemy); Magnificent Flying Carpet takes the most, 4 per craft.
Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 1 reagent for one craft of Deadly Monarch Topaz cost 50 gold.
Break-even is 52 gold63 silver - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 18,888 gold59 silver, which clears it.
At that listed price the gross margin before fees is 18,838 gold59 silver; the Auction House would keep 944 gold42 silver of a sale, leaving 17,894 gold16 silver. That is an estimated 35788.3% return on the gold you put into reagents, after the cut has taken 5.0% of the gross.
Listing depth right now: 2 units across 1 auction region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
