Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 2 reagents for one craft of Dragonscale Leg Armor cost 499 gold. Most of that is Pristine Hide - 1 at 280 gold each, 280 gold, 56.1% of the whole basket. Watch that one price and you have watched most of this recipe.

At that listed price the gross margin before fees is 87 gold94 silver; the Auction House would keep 29 gold34 silver of a sale, leaving 58 gold59 silver. That is an estimated 11.7% return on the gold you put into reagents, after the cut has taken 33.4% of the gross.
Listing depth right now: 24 units across 7 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
