Background
Crafting estimate at current listings
At current lowest listed prices one craft shows an estimated profit of 21 gold3 silver, but the crafted item’s listing is far from its 30-day median (see below).
- Reagent cost (lowest listed)
- 9 gold79 silver
- Crafted item, lowest listed price (each)
- 6 gold49 silver
- Items per craft
- 5
- Listed value of one craft
- 32 gold45 silver
- Auction House cut (5%)
- 1 gold62 silver
- Estimated profit at that listed price
- 21 gold3 silver (+215%)
- Evidence: 17 current listings holding 185 units of the crafted item in the US region. We see listings, not sales, so how many sell and at what price is unknown.
- Outlier: the crafted item’s lowest listing is 14 times its 30-day median of 46 silver, so this estimate rests on a listing far above its usual level.
- Items per craft: the game’s spell data creates 5 per craft, so the listed value of one craft is that many times the lowest listed price.

Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 4 reagents for one craft of Dubious Delight cost 9 gold79 silver. Most of that is Fresh Potato - 4 at 97 silver each, 3 gold88 silver, 39.6% of the whole basket. Watch that one price and you have watched most of this recipe.
Break-even is 10 gold30 silver per craft, 2 gold6 silver per item at 5 items a craft - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 6 gold49 silver, which clears it.
At that listed price the gross margin before fees is 22 gold66 silver; the Auction House would keep 1 gold62 silver of a sale, leaving 21 gold3 silver. That is an estimated 214.9% return on the gold you put into reagents, after the cut has taken 7.2% of the gross.
Listing depth right now: 185 units across 17 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
