Crafting estimate at current listings
At current lowest listed prices one craft shows an estimated profit of 147 gold95 silver, but the crafted item’s listing is far from its 30-day median (see below).
- Reagent cost (lowest listed)
- 9 gold3 silver
- Crafted item, lowest listed price
- 165 gold25 silver
- Auction House cut (5%)
- 8 gold26 silver
- Estimated profit at that listed price

- Evidence: 5 current listings holding 30 units of the crafted item in the US region. We see listings, not sales, so how many sell and at what price is unknown.
- Outlier: the crafted item’s lowest listing is 33 times its 30-day median of 5 gold, so this estimate rests on a listing far above its usual level.

Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 3 reagents for one craft of Elixir of Lightning Speed cost 9 gold3 silver. Most of that is Crystallized Life - 1 at 6 gold each, 6 gold, 66.4% of the whole basket. Watch that one price and you have watched most of this recipe.
Break-even is 9 gold50 silver - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 165 gold25 silver, which clears it.
At that listed price the gross margin before fees is 156 gold22 silver; the Auction House would keep 8 gold26 silver of a sale, leaving 147 gold95 silver. That is an estimated 1638.5% return on the gold you put into reagents, after the cut has taken 5.3% of the gross.
Listing depth right now: 30 units across 5 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
