Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 1 reagent for one craft of Greater Magic Essence cost 1 gold42 silver.
Break-even is 1 gold49 silver - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 2 gold19 silver, which clears it.
At that listed price the gross margin before fees is 77 silver; the Auction House would keep 10 silver95 copper of a sale, leaving 66 silver5 copper. That is an estimated 46.5% return on the gold you put into reagents, after the cut has taken 14.2% of the gross.
Listing depth right now: 27,204 units across 47 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
