Blackfallow Ink. Made with Blackfallow Ink (Inscription, Cataclysm Inscription) from 2
Ashen Pigment. At lowest listed prices that makes one Blackfallow Ink for 7 gold20 silver, against 6 gold79 silver listed. Also a required reagent in 24 other recipes (24 Inscription); the most per craft: Gilnean Postbox (Inscription, 7 per craft), Gilnean Map (Inscription, 5 per craft), Felfire Inscription (Inscription, 4 per craft), Inscription of the Earth Prince (Inscription, 4 per craft) and Lionsmane Inscription (Inscription, 4 per craft).

Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 2 reagents for one craft of Scroll of Intellect IX cost 6 gold81 silver. Most of that is Blackfallow Ink - 1 at 6 gold79 silver each, 6 gold79 silver, 99.7% of the whole basket. Watch that one price and you have watched most of this recipe.
Break-even is 7 gold16 silver per craft, 1 gold43 silver per item at 5 items a craft - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 9 gold44 silver, which clears it.
At that listed price the gross margin before fees is 40 gold39 silver; the Auction House would keep 2 gold36 silver of a sale, leaving 38 gold3 silver. That is an estimated 558.4% return on the gold you put into reagents, after the cut has taken 5.8% of the gross.
Listing depth right now: 1,085 units across 9 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
