Please don't pollute wowhead with garbage like that. You can clearly look at the spell details here: http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=42976 which very very clear states a 15 second buff. I'll leave the theorycrafting to people better at math, but seriously, click a couple links before you comment =(

edit : This comment was addressed to a comment which has since been deleted. I'm not responding to Shadowreunion. I have Executioner on my Torch of the damned and my general assessment is it's a nice pvp enchant / raiding enchant, but kinda sucks for farming. I'm a paladin, though.

I want to talk a little bit for PvP.Savagery or Executioner(Savagery vs Executioner). With Savagery you get + 17.5-17.5dmg(as warrior) and about Executioner dmg depends whats the armor of your target.

Savagery:
For Example with my warrior in full Arena S2 gear on PvP MS build has 1734 AP(Unbuffed) with Savagery enchant on me, thats like ~1.009% constant increase of my dmg and As much AP you have the savagery gives you less % of damage for example with 2000 AP Savagery boost you ~0.875% of your whole dmg. That means as much AP you got less % of DMG boost.(Dont understand me wrong savagery always buff 17.5-17.5 +dmg increase if you are warrior but the % of dmg which I'm talking about is different with different AP)

Executioner:
The % of damage depends of the target that you attack. We can see what + % We get from Coconuter's calculations(which I get for correct) : http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p-p2GoLIggc7xJFZegWVhDA

The example with class-armor is very good and real because most the classes with full arena gear have almost ~the exact armor as the Coconuter's scale has.And if you fight target with 10k Armor for example 2H Warrior with Full Arena Gear the dmg increase is around 4% +damage. And Even If you fight Druid on Bear with 25k Armor(which is too much, usually resto druid in arena has like 16-17k on bear with the tallent Thick Hide who gave you +10% armor increase) the +% dmg boost is not less than 2% which is still more than Savagery.
On cloth user like Arena Geared Mage who has around 2500 with Armor buff and around 1700-1800 armor with no buffs the % of dmg Increase is lik 7-8% which is very good.

I dont really know whats the proc of the Executioner enchant, 15 secs is a good time and if the proc is good it worth to change your Savagery, since you are not so much Crowd Controlled and able to use the full time of your proc(or atleast 70% of the time).I am gonna definitely try the Executioner and If the proc is good I think it will be better than Savagery.

p.s.On different builds there can be some differences between the % Increase of Savagery but imo they wont be so big.And I am sorry about that I didnt write comment about other classes but you just can calculate what % of dmg increases Savagery on your class and then to compare it with the Coconut's ignore armor scale. And I am sorry that I didnt write a comment about the Moongoose but the % of dmg increase from this enchant depends a lot from your build(if we are talking about warrior) and the resilience of your target.I am sry in advance if you find some mistakes in my post it was too early in morning when i've wrote it(I've just tryed to help myself and to share my point of view with you) and I hope it will be usefull for you.And maybe sometimes I am gonna wright something about the Moongoose enchant buff on different warrior builds and targets. The choice is yours what enchant to use and what you prefere-proc(Executioner) or constant damage(Savagery) and are you so much crowd controlled(with the setup you play) so you wont be able to use the Executioner’s proc properly.

EDIT:After Test
I've tested the proc. And now I can give you exampl : In EotS Battleground I was zerging with heals and 90% of the time I was with the proc, It seems that it trigger on multiple targets I mean if you do Cleave+Whirlwind the proc chance is increased. And In arena I am very satisfied with it. And bensam I dont know how 5 minutes it didnt proc really its imposible that can happen only if you zerg and die in 1-2 secs.I personaly use S3 mace 3.6 speed and as I mention I am pretty much satisfied I dont know about these Five minutes I've tested also the proc rate outside of IF, only with Auto Attacks and it procs very good.Still i am pretty much convused about the "FIVE MINUTES". :) But everyone has personal opinion and If you dont like it put Savagery or other enchant. :)

What? Procs Per Minute is an AVERAGED figure, not a fixed maximum >_< You could have an enchant with a PPM of 0.1 (i.e 1 proc per 10 minutes on average), and still with incredible luck have it proc 3 times in 3 swings. Afterall - the chance of any given person winning a lottery is miniscule - lets say 0.00000001 Wins Per Ticket. Yet someone still wins it, and in some rare occasions even win 2 ;)

I submitted a pic of it from the test realms. Looks like Icy, with purple flecks coming out and the odd bolt of lightning.

The proc animation is a yellow swirl around the midsection of your body. I'll see if I can get a fraps running later.

Edit:
Ok just parsed 10 minutes of auto attack and 10 minutes of using instants.
Test was made duelling a tree druid who just healed himself as I auto attacking. 0 Haste, no seals, no instants.
Executioner proc'd 9 times and refreshed itself twice.

10 minutes of "instants" and Seal of Command.
Same test setup except I took off some AP/crit gear (to not accidentally kill the druid) and sealed SoC -> judge + reseal -> CS. Note this was not the maximum number of instants but I got lazy and just mashed macro then CS.
11 minute sample size, 16 procs, 8 refreshes.

Larger test to come when the servers can stay up for more than 10 minutes.

This can also be used against other people than paladins. A clothie has around 2.4k armor and 18% damage reduction. Ignoring 840 of their armor would reduce the damage reduction by atleast 5-6%, which is a raw 5-6% increase to all of your physical autoattacks and abilities, which isnt too shabby at all.

65452+18via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Permanently enchant a -> * Melee * <- Weapon to occasionally ignore 840 of your enemy's armor. Requires a level 60 or higher item. The enchant adds a proc to the weapon thats getting it and since its an enchant for melee weapons you cant enchant a ranged weapon with it. Your ranged weapon wont proc the buff if you have a melee weapon enchanted with executioner equipped because the ranged weapon doesnt have the proc. While the buff is active however, its plausible that ranged attacks receive the armor ignoring modifier, but utilizing a melee proc that lasts 15 seconds to benefit ranged a

I have been testing this on the PTR on my rogue. Comparing basic observations of executioner vs. mongoose. The first thing that stuck out to me was that buff can only be up one at a time(Meaning that each weapon does not proc individually like the mongoose enchants). I did notice that they can refresh though. So having it on both weapons will increase the amount of time executioner is up, but will not double the effect.

After all of my testing I believe it will be most effective as a MH enchant with Mongoose applied to the OH. Since the affect of this combined with other armor penetrating items will produce more damage than the mongoose buff, applying it to the main hand will produce more damage for rogues because of the larger number of attacks with the main hand weapon.

This very well could be a %chance and not PPM for how often it proced.

Procs per hit = Weapon speed * Procs per minute / 60

This gives the percentage chance that the proc will go off each hit. An understandable misconception is that procs per minute guarantees that exactly some amount of procs will occur each minute of combat. This is not the case, as procs per minute is merely a statistical average, not a guarantee.

http://www.wowwiki.com/Ppm

Perhalps if you understood what ppm was, you would have realized earlier it is as you say -- it's all up to chance. At a rate of 1ppm on your 3.8s mace, it's about a 6.3% chance per hit. Keep in mind each time you hit and it doesn't proc -- doesn't affect or increase the chance it will proc on the next hit.

If you make 100 attacks at 6.3% chance to proc, and none of them proc. Does that mean your next attack will have a better chance to proc? Nope! Still 6.3% mutually exclusive and independent

Denkou+15via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

The proc itself will not generate threat, but because it reduces the armor of your target, your attacks will do more damage which means more threat. Most Prot Warriors will carry around two sets of gear, one for Avoidance (high block/parry) and one for Threat (lots of Shield Block Value, Hit, and Expertise). If you want to Min/Max your gear then you'll probably want to put Executioner on your threat weapon (King's Defender is a good example) and Mongoose on your Avoidance weapon (i.e. Sun Eater). http://www.elitistjerks.com/f31/t18771-protection_warrior/

Armor penetration scales with your gear because by reducing your enemy's armor you reduce the percentage reduction to your own damage. By working out how much the damage reduction % drops you can further calculate how much more of your damage gets through and the proportional increase in damage you gain from that. Ultimately it comes down to "+x% physical dmg" and if that's not a stat that scales I don't know what is... On the other hand, 120 Agi certainly does scale with gear too, even if its value depends on class and talent build.

I often hate that some clothies can survive longer then me in melee, locks in specifically are especially bad. I wouldn't mind being able to execute them over increaseing my crit rate by 6%. If the armor reduc can be increased to almost totally nullify clothies it would be fearsome indeed, as it would really only affect people with lower amounts of armor. Sorta makes me feel bad for wasting 400g on mongoose as I hate casters more so then bosses or my plated brethren.

129225+12via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Question,

I see a lot of Protection specced warriors with Executioner, does executioner generate any threat at all? or is it basically like having another sunder armor on the target. Trying to decide wether to get Executioner or Mongoose.

Any help would be great.

ADneo+9via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

9,74% at LVL 80, what im more interested in if this enchant maybe worth enchanting over AP enchants? 10% ArP vs raid bosses is not bad at all, if anyone at all can confirm, i would be gratefull, atm i have 89% ArP with Grim Toll up not counting all raid debuffs. Feral Druid.

515106+9via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Tested on my feral for uptime. Autoattack only.
Exp capped, hit noncapped (%5,46 covered)
DBW was equipped so haste proc probably affected it.
All in all, Executioner buff had %20,1 uptime.

This is also great for a Prot Warrior threat enchant. If your being spam healed in a 25 man raid, executioner will normaly be much better than goose since you will have more threat, and dodges will just produce overheal and less rage.

SharQueDo+7via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

This enchant is generally better than Berserking on a Hack and Slash Combat Rogue at T9 gear levels than Berserking, according to several spreadsheets, including Rawr. Preferably this enchant on the main-hand weapon with Black Magic enchant on the off-hand weapon, which has been changed to 250 haste since 3.3 and can proc off poisons.

Please consult your spreadsheet before use.

Denkou+6via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It's worth it. There is no other alternative for a Fury Warrior's MH enchant, this is simply the best enchant out there. However, if you're short on funds or plan to replace your weapon soon, then +20 Strength is fine.

defektunge+5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Data posted above indicates that it is indeed PPM. Thus you'll get the same number of procs on average over a set period of time when autoattacking. Taking instants into account, this (like any PPM) will proc slightly more often on a slower weapon.

15462+5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

it's probably just unluckiness. You have to note that while in a battleground, you're not constantly hitting something-in fact you're usually only hitting stuff about half the time, if that. I suggest doing something with actual hits going all the time.

Splinter+5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

for two things to be both mutually exclusive and independent, at least one of them has to be equal to 0. There are many proofs for this and it's given in introductory probability courses. Please don't use words that you don't understand fully; it's just painful as a mathematician to see people use jargon wrongly. The events are independent, not mutually exclusive. If they were mutually exclusive, then only one could happen; and it is clear that you can have two procs in a row. You would need a "hidden" (or not hidden) cooldown for them to be mutually exclusive.

36692+5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

You shouldn't be asking about this on wowhead, as your post is not really informative taking the topic (Executioner) into consideration. You should rather ask about this on the rogue forums than polluting wowhead with questions.

246065+5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Yes this is superior in pvp. Even if the 102dmg applies to every hit, that is still only 28 white dps, or around 95dps assuming 3.6 speed and an instant attack on every gcd, for the duration. Not to mention the armor debuff from berserking.

186699+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

For PVP as any ret paladin, get Executioner. For PvE Horde Retadins get mongoose and stack haste till your eyes bleed (after decent AP/Crit ofc) PvE Alliance...I've heard that Exe and Ar.p stacking is better dps.

168791+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

No, they buffed this one to use the ArP rating, since it gives 120 rating, that's roughly 10% armor penetration, a hefty amount. So no, there isn't a newer version, they just made this one better. Ignoring ~9.50% of your enemy's armor from time to time is great.

230590+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

seems people forgot about this, might be the cost but since they buffed armor pen, the proc is exactly 10% at 80

great for combat rogues and probably better than massacre for a fury warrior's OH

though chances are, probably have double berserking if you had the mats, or rogues using the more universal mongoose instead of this anyways

430856+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I am an arms warrior mace spec and currently sit at about 35% armor pen with just talents and gear. I was curious to see if my dps will increase because of the additional 10%. I currently have beserking on my mace and was considering trying out executioner, is it worth it?

340846+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

My question is a bit different. For Warrior as i am, what should i have on my 2h wp in PvP?

Berserking (+400AP) or

Executioner (+120ArP -->+10% in battle stance = 132/12.3 -->10.7% ignore armor)?

Think that Berserking --> 400/14*3.6 --> 102dmg in 3.6 speed

And Executioner -->10.7% ignore armor

I don't know the proc rate and I think that 10.7% ignore is better than 100 dmg in pvp..

FlayOnDarkIron+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

120 crit rating is worth:

+10.37% crit @51 (Earliest you can get it, I believe, if you were to put it on the Ice Barbed Spear)
+8.57% crit @60
+5.44% crit @70
+2.61% crit @80

Overall, seems.. eh.. lackluster... to me. Personally, I think I would rather have Berserking or Massacre, but that's just me. You may feel differently.

But to be fair, this enchant looks beastly. Thats gotta count for something, right?

138679+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Im duel-wielding PvE fury warrior and I was thinking about putting this on one of my axes. Both of them have +20 str. , but I was wonderin if that ignore 840 from time to time could compensate for the loss of +20 str.

Grisll+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Yes, it will. Here is a quote from "The Night Blades" comments. "The dagger procs very frequently and the buff often stacks to 3 and refreshes itself. The proc is a self-buff so it stacks with armor-reducing debuffs on the target and persists through multiple targets."

113463+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

For fury warriors, yes, Executioner as a mainhand enchant is mandatory. Mongoose doesn't even hold a candle to it. For the offhand, however, two executioners would be a complete waste, as they do not stack if both proc. For your offhand, potency and mongoose are approximately equal (~3-4DPS difference, in favor of mongoose).
