Dandelion Frolicker

To obtain this pet, you must interact with a Neverending Spritewood. They are large purple crystals that appear in the rock walls around the Nice Sprites.These Neverending Spritewoods spawn roughly at (47.90, 73.50), (44.73, 70.45) (45.00, 75.74) and (46.30, 71.00). Interacting with it will spawn [npc=71826] and allow you to attack the [npc=71823] as well. You are only able to attack the Sprites for 1 minute until the buff from interacting with the Neverending Spritewood wears off.

Scary Sprites have a chance to drop the battle pet, Dandelion Frolicker.

What you Should Know:

• The Sprites all have about 300k HP and hit for 7-12k each. It may not seem like much, but when you get 20+ adds on you, it starts hitting very hard. Be cautious not to get overzealous and pull so many that you die. As you pull/kill adds, more will continue to spawn.
• 
  
• You can only click on the Neverending Spritewood once per day, per character. But if you're in a group with someone else who interacts with it, you will still get loot from the adds they kill.
• 
  
• You have only one minute to kill the adds before they despawn or turn friendly again.
• 
  
• Roughly 1-2 hour 10-15 minute spawn timer on the Neverending Spritewood.
• 
  
• Four confirmed spawn points.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY
You can group with people for this quest. The coins etc. are not shared loot, but the pet is. Regardless, you can be in a group to camp the crystals, and everyone in the group will get to loot the dead adds, however, only the person who clicked the Neverending Spritewood can actually DPS the adds. It's always nice to at least have a healer with you though. You can pull literally everything and not die.

Regarding the [npc=71826] not spawning:
Update 9/26/2013: The Scary Sprite spawn rate seems to have been dramatically increased; from 0-1 Scary Sprites spawning, to 5 or more of them spawning in the 1 minute buff duration. the Neverending Spritewood respawn timer has also been reduced from approximately 1 hour to approximately 10-15 minutes. This has greatly increased the availability of this pet. Good luck to everyone!

Update 9/18/2013: After more than 30 crystals, with maybe 3 of them spawning a Scary Sprite, I finally got my Dandelion Frolicker today. The Scary Sprite that dropped the pet appeared after about 90 or so Angry Sprites had been killed.

With the latest maintenance (25 Sept 2013), I can confirm the respawn rate is a lot shorter (~15mins or so) for the Neverending Spritewood especially since you can see several piles of corpses at the one time. However, for those camping the area there appears to be a lockout from clicking the crystal again within a short period. I was close enough to click it a few hours later but was unable to interact with it so it looks like you can only click it once per day. This is good news as it means more people have a chance at the event and pet.

There also seems to be a higher number of Scary Sprites which have a chance to spawn during the one min encounter although the drop still seems low for the pet. On a side note, I was also able to loot the corpses when the person I was partied with completed the event.
