Superior Dodge

Yeah. After a few weeks raiding, and being able to actually see what PvE looks like now, I agree that I was wrong. :-/ The main reason why this enchant is rather good is that we almost never die in one or two hits, making avoidance relevant (and as, in term of stat budget, 40 dodge is actually equivalent to 60 stam, it's better than the previous enchant I mentionned) Sorry about that, you guys were right to "unrate" my posts above and yeah, "Use dodge" ^^

Actually, there is little wrong with the dodge enchant as far as tanking(unless the actual increase to dodge is lacking). From what I have seen, avoidance is just as good as stam, if not a touch better, due to the more you avoid damage the less you strain your healer's mana. For most healers, it seems their dream tanks are in the 130k-140k heath range with avoidance gems/enchants and not the 150k+health with very little avoidance opnes (I.E. the stam stackers)

So 50 dodge rating = 0.28% dodge and 40 stamina = ~570 hp. Then how much dodge-able damage do you have to take over a fight to make dodge worth it, mathematically? 0.0028x = 570, so at least ~204k hp worth of damage. Of course, there are diminishing returns, but nearly every fight at 85 has tanks receiving much, much more damage than that. Raid tanks right now are taking damage in the millions. Use dodge.
