Is it worth it for your Bringer of Death you just picked up when you hit 70, not really. But if it's that nice epic you just got from raiding and you plan to use it for a while, it's totally worth it. 14 dmg is 14 dmg. Why do you use buff food, oil, elixirs, flasks etc., if 14 dmg isn't worth it to you. ...from the perspective of a raiding Shadow Priest.

actually after thinking back and forth, in the end i do think it is worth it, after all. If you think you're ready to take the next step in maximizing the damage available, this is a must have. +14dmg is not much, but it stacks in the end with all the extra effort you put to upgrade your socketed gear. And by the way, at that point you probably already have those easy farmable/craftable 6 void crystals, and all the prismatic shards along with the essence.

And speaking about the primals, well, 20 primals is farmable in one day. I don't know about you, but if i was a hardcore epiced out guy with the best gems/thread out there, why not skip kara/SSC/arena for that day and go for those primals instead. After all, it all stacks up. And hey, you get a sexy glow there aswell.

I believe it is worth noting that as of patch 2.2 the number of void crystals required for the soulfrost enchant has been increased from six to twelve. On the other hand, the number of primal shadows and primal waters needed has been reduced from ten to six.
