Fishing

You can cast fishing without having a fishing pole equipped. You get a simple twig as fishing pole, and your weapons will remain equipped. I do not yet know if you still need a fishing pole in your bags (probably), but I'm guessing any benefits your fishing pole would provide (like +fishing), would not work without it being equipped.

This is the "new" fishing spell, as opposed to the old one, which is Fishing. If you had your fishing ability on your action bar prior to 5.0.4, it will cast the old one. To cast the new one, you need to open your professions page and relink the fishing ability onto your action bar.

So what is the difference? I haven't noticed a practical difference that affects the way you catch fish. Visually, the old spell doesn't show the cast bar any more (but it used to). A new feature is that now it shows fishing as a buff that counts down from 21-22 seconds, at the top right of your screen.

Edit: The old fishing ability has disappeared from my action bar. Seems to be hot-fixed.

I've been using this macro for a while now, works great, just hope it doesn't get broken in MoP
