Chances are chimeras are one of the 'exotic' pets tameable only by Beastmasters with their 51 point talent.
If I'm not mistaken the Hyena is in the Ferocity tree where as the Chimera is in the Cunning. So if the slow effect is relitively the same and the cool down is shorter Chimera wins for pvp. Although so far no one in beta that I know of has been able to tame it as of yet. Edit: It's Nuramoc although- Ghostcrowler is quoted saying this:
I really hate to mention this, but there is currently a single chimera that is tamable and he might even be a rare spawn. I feel bad making you run all over the world trying to find him. Next patch there will be many more.
