• Jeweled Whelplings come in 5x different variants matching the Dragonflights. Jewelcrafters with [skill=2829] Skill 50 can craft these battle pets when they acquire the designs for the Jeweled Whelplings.

• Apart from traditional trading, Dragonflight offers a new way to get your hands on these pets: You can place work orders and deliver all reagents for a pet of your choice.
• 
  
• As long as one character on the Account reaches Renown Level 21 with the [faction=2507] (to unlock "Jeweled Whelpling Treasure Maps" account-wide), the actual JC only needs to learn [skill=2829] to go for the Designs.

• The Designs (for JCs only) and Gem Cluster crafting reagents are guaranteed drops from Gem Cluster treasures. Each one is tied to a specific map, the first [item=200738] is a reward for completing Rumors of the Jeweled Whelplings when reaching Renown 21. This quest will be flagged complete for the whole account, so you probably have to go for the [npc=189065] vendor purchase on all but one character. (3x [item=192863] + 100x [currency=2003])

• I personally found the other maps in repeatable treasures in all zones, i.E. [object=383736], [object=376587], or any kind of [object=376426] (some of these include a puzzle). I've also found additional Gem Cluster crafting reagents and even Designs (with my JC) in them (the latter maybe as a fallback when someone looted the Gem Cluster treasures for Treasure Hunter of the Dragon Isles and learned JC later).

• Right now on Beta the treasure maps will mark their treasure locations, but you won't see these icons unless you're in that zone.
• 
  
• The tooltip for Renown 21 suggests that we'll find all the treasure maps and designs on the vendor, but I've never seen something else but the Onyx Gem Cluster Map.
• 
  
• Not sure what happened with the Design for the Jeweled Onyx Whelpling (my bags were not full), but I personally didn't loot it from Onyx Gem Cluster treasure , but instead found it in my mailbox afterward.

• Unfortuantely I didn't consider this earlier and now can't test it myself, but maybe it's a good idea to check for the "Rumors of the Jeweled Whelplings" quest on your actual Jewelcrafter and not touch it when your first character reaches Renown 21. I personally don't like the reagents that are needed for the Onyx map purchase, so unless Blizzard changes it into a character-specific quest, I would just keep it for the JC (or a character you hunt Achievements with).

2. Prequest: Loot [item=202081] from [npc=190056] and complete item quest Funding a Treasure Hunt
   It never dropped for me during lvling, but always dropped from 1-st NPC when i got there at max lv
   So you buy [item=198854] from [npc=189226] and find the first treasure [object=381045] - it is intro treasure, and you get 1-st map for free
3. 
   
4. Search and loot all the random treasure chests you can find
   
   • 
     
   • [object=376587] renown 2 with [faction=2507]
   • 
     
   • [object=383735] renown 5 with [faction=2507] and will need to buy [item=191294] (buy/craft alot, you will always want to have them in your bags)
   • 
     
   • [object=376426] renown 16 with [faction=2507]
   • 
     
   They spawn all over the Dragon Isles and have similar loot, just a little bit different mechanics and unlock at certain reputation with [faction=2507].
   And i think that every chest in every zone can drop all 9 maps in random order

6. You can get 6 maps before Renown lvl 21 with [faction=2507] and 5 more after.
   2 maps are from intro quests and 9 are from random treasure chests drop
7. 
   
8. Hard part is to loot the map from random treasure chest and the rest is easy.
   1 map drops every 50-100 chests
   Use the map and it will highlight the location of the treasure
   Treasure icon will be visible when you enter the subzone (Waking Shores, Azure Span , so on)
   Loot the treasure and get the reward
