TheWoWDBIn the most recent PTR build (4.1.0.13750), it was added as a reward to some quest halfway through the 4.1 STV ZG questline. Funny thing is that you complete the quest where those rumors in vanilla started about where to get a panther mount, in that cave.

While i was on the PTR, i got this little guy.
**SPOILER (If you like reading the text in quest dialogue)**
The panther cub looks up at you and seems to say with his eyes, "Will you be my new mommy/daddy?" (Im assuming since i play a girl character)
