CcFreAk they don't go for $1000 US they are between $150-200 US as of November 2011. It's still pretty expensive for a companion pet though.
In the current MOP BETA, the pet journal has flavor text for most of the pets. Spectral Tiger Cub's is as follows: "Affectionate and curious, these kittens seem to find the most peculiar hiding places."
Listed as a "Magic" type pet, his six attacks thus far are: Claw, Evanescence, Leap, Ravage, Spectral Strike, and Prismatic Barrier.
