Summer Wilderling

Someone upvoted this comment in Jan 2025, so I came in to make sure it was updated... and I needed to update this a little. Although you DO need to be Night Fae to get the mount to drop, you can change your covenant to get this... AND... once you have it, you can use the mount as any covenant. Those changes were made later in the expansion. You DO need to be a Night Fae for the mount to drop for sure.

I know there is a lot of information around, but I wanted to make sure that I posted something for people to see a little more detail. The Alluring Drum can be clicked by Night Fae only and will summon the Escaped Wilderling. Once it comes down, you have to attack and get the health down to about 15% (if there are a lot of people it usually shows as 1%) and then it flies back to behind the drum where it should become rideable. You jump on and ride it to try to tame it. Every time it speeds up, you push the button to hang on.

There is a very small chance to get Wilderling Saddle, which is a quest to turn in for the Summer Wilderling mount.

You need to be Night Fae in order to have this drop. Each covenant has a different encounter. This one happens to be for the Night Fae, but everyone can ride on it and get a box with some small items in it.

I know that not everyone has had the chance to experience this rare encounter and there are always questions on how it works, so I went ahead and recorded the last time I tried for my mount. (With my luck, I'll be trying this for the next year! Haha)

I think it's a fun encounter, but it's such a bummer that we can't have it for everyone!

As a follow up, it took me around 50 tries to get the mount. As other people have reported, the Wilderling Saddle is a separate item from the lockbox so you don't have to wait until you get off to find out if you got the mount or not.
