If anyone else is interested, the path to this pets flying sound is:
Sound\\Creature\\SilithidWasp\\SilithidWingLoop2.wav
Replacing this sound file will mute this pets flight noise. This particular sound is also used for all wasp creatures so muting this will also mute others.
To replace them make a folder called Sound in your World of Warcraft > Data folder and create the same tree path as shown above then place blank .wav files with the same name in the last folder that was created.
Replacing sound files is legal. Here is a post by Bornakk on the subject.
