Okay, so as far as I know, the buff disappears if you log out or die. Figures.

So, I was careful, did pretty much every world quest available at the time, and ground out the rest of the required kills (which was no small task, since it took over 4 hours). Single kill, gives about 0.05%, but some hard mobs gave a whopping 0.5%.

The reward for this thing, which is a) too expensive to craft, and b) way too grindy is...

44 gold. Or 200 Sightless Eyes. That's it. Screw this, not doing it again.

I saw this item and thought, "How cool would it be to read about the things I've killed?"

That's not how this works at all (currently as of Dec '17).

I crafted this item in Dalaran, used this item in Dalaran, and never got the buff. I figured, maybe it'll start counting when I kill something. Went to Azsuna, killed a couple mobs and nothing. Cleared a dungeon and nothing. Cleared The Emerald Nightmare and nothing. I haven't been able to find it being tracked anywhere else (i.e. spellbook). Don't waste your materials.

Okay so I used this item twice and both of these times the buff just dissappeared after a time. Can anyone give me some insight about this? Because it is not that cheap to make them.
