Whoever made this have a one hour cooldown: screw you.
Seeing one of the rares I need for this achievement be up but not being able to get it because there is still 30 min left on my Clacking Claw? That is no fun at all.

Thanks to a few things this achievement is easier than comparable ones in the past.
In order to complete this achievement you need to defeat rares in Zaralek Caverns while transformed by [item=205686] which drops off [npc=203618] rare. You have a 10 minute buff (but a 1 hour CD on the item), you can mount with it and you can use your regular abilities. As long as a rare dies while you have this buff (can't tag a boss with the buff, run out of the buff and keep credit), you can get credit even in raid groups. This achievement is account-wide so any of your alts can contribute to the achievement. The buff does tick down even if you log out.
1. You can buy [item=205686] off the Auction House if you need extra.
2. Zaralek Caverns borrows from Forbidden Reach's [item=204559] feature where you will get a zone wide emote for most rares and upon reaching the area get a timer by checking the [spell=409035] buff on stealthed Niffen [npc=204657] on when they exactly spawn.
3. The other technique I used since having to farm Korthia every day for power back in 9.1 (shudder) is the 'Tag and Dash' approach. Because players in the entire zone are not going to be coordinated enough to kill rares one by one, you will often see 3+ rares up but no way to get to them each time. However you can tag a rare, get 100+ yards out, drop combat and mount up to go to another rare to tag. As long as you don't force drop combat with spells like Feign Death, [spell=135201] or Invisibility, the game will preserve your tag and credit to various rare objectives will still proc along with you getting nearly all of your loot in your mail after a while (basically when the rare's corpse despawns). Great for busy zones and works most of the time (unless the group still killing the rare fails, the rare resets, some funky thing happens etc.). And awesome with the 1 hour cd.
Those three things meant I'm just a few rares away from completing this achievement on Day 1 of the patch. My record was getting to 4 rares in time before they got nuked.
EDIT 05/04 - there might have some small nerf or bug fix - that first day of patch I had rares spawn much more frequently and sometimes in waves. It happens now but less frequently. You can try starting a run on server reset time and tagging and dashing to grab 4+ rares in one go.
EDIT 05/05 - you can map out how many [item=205686] you need to buy or farm to complete the achievement. I like going # of rares left divided by 3, but you can go 2 or 1. Right now prices are pretty high but later on in the patch when it winds down there should be a lot of supply to grab 10 of them. I bought out a bunch of [item=205686] in the first couple of days before they tripled in price.
To earn this achievement, each rare in Zaralek Cavern needs to be killed while under the effects of the [item=205686] item
Earning this achievement grants the [item=205904] toyThings to note:
- [item=205686] is dropped by Klakatak, and you can loot 0-2 from one kill
- [item=205686] has a 10 minute buff, but a 1 hour cooldown, and is consumed on use
- The effects of [item=205686] persist through death AND mounting AND logging out
- [item=205686] is NOT Bind on Pickup, and can be bought and sold on the Auction House
- You can get credit for a rare on your second kill for the day, you just won't have the zone announcement when the rare spawns
- This achievement is an Account achievement, therefore you can earn credit for different rares on different characters if you want to speed up the rare kills outside the one hour cooldown
- Currently some rares are listed differently on the achievement vs the in-game NPC:
- Brulsef the Stronk = Brullo the Strong
- Jrumm = Dinn
- Kaprachu = Kapraku
- Veridian King = Viridian King
- Invohq = Invoq
- Kairotka = Karokta
- Magmanesha = Magtembo
Each rare spawns with a short time period of being inactive to allow players to get there.
When they spawn, an emote is displayed in player chat windows to alert them of the rare spawning.
