As of 4.0.6, credit for this is retroactively awarded if you obtained Rival (top 10% of a season's ladder) in Season 8, Seasons 1-7 seem to not count. My guild received credit from a few classes when this first came out.

Kind of strange but our guild got this, but does not have the guild of challengers. You would think rival> challenger so it would just grant both but I guess not
