This achievement is all about probabilities. I ran a Monte Carlo simulation to see how many solves it would take to find all pristine items, given that you have already found some number of pristines. I assumed a 12.5% chance of getting the pristine version of a solve, and simulated 100.000 times per starting number of pristines. I determined the chance from the number of solves reported by other players in the Draenor Curator comments.

The left column shows the number of pristines that are already completed. The other columns show the nth percentile of the number of solves it took to complete the achievement. For example, if you have found 4 pristines already, 50% of the people would complete the achievement within an additional 178 solves.

Please remember that the results in this table are based on a simulation, and are therefore not exact.

For the people who are missing only one pristine, don't worry. I'm 95% sure that you'll find the last one within 239 solves.

There are three achievements from Draenor Archaeology: Unite the Clans, Arakkoa Archivist, and Highmaul Historian. By completing all three you will also receive Draenor Curator.

Currently, the best and fastest way to acquire these achievements from what I can tell is to save up and use your Restored Artifact and buy the crates from Dariness the Learned in Dalaran.

I was an idiot and didn't bother looking any of this up, so I farmed a great deal. If you don't really have any of the Restored Artifacts, then this is what I did to farm:

First, fly out to Stormshield and buy some Draenor Archaeologist's Map and Draenor Archaeologist's Lodestone. At first I would use the lodestone to port me (hopefully to the other side of the map), where I would start my farm. From there I would work across Draenor. When I completed one of the achievements (for me it was Highmaul Historian and then Arakkoa), I started to only fly out to the Draenor dig sites. When I ran out of the Draenor dig sites, I would use the map to recycle them and start over. I never did any of the dig sites I didn't need.

From what I can tell, a lot of people are still actually grinding this, so if I help one person then it worth me doing all these links and typing this up.
