At the beginning of the fight, 8 adds are frozen in ice. They can be freed by breaking their ice tombs during the encounter and provide significant buffs. If this is done, they will also have to be kept alive.

This achievement is the easiest for Hodir, as long as you do this correctly. In front of Hodir there are 8 Ice Blocks. These are 8 Adds which, when broken out, will aid you in different ways (see Hodir fight for their descriptions). In order to get this achievement, all 8 'Helpers' must not die during the entire encounter (duh). The kicker is that if any 'Helper' is in an Ice Block when Hodir casts 'Flash Freeze', he will kill that Add (no save).
One thing of note is that you can end up making it so that the adds end up in the air (and as part of it, not getting frozen), if you position the ice falls correctly. You can cause the Ice Shards to push the Adds back to the wall and when they get knocked back, they will just end up in the snow drift, which they will not be frozen. Requires a little coordination to do, though.
