If you have a Warlock in your group, just tell him to put his Felhunter out and use Devour Magic on auto-cast.

Everyone needs to read more carefully. The achievement is NOT a DPS race.He doesn't even cast it at all if you treat it as one. If you have a solid DPS group you can burn Ymiron and still get this achievement because the fight's mechanics won't let him cast Bane until enough time has elapsed after he taps a boat.
Without trying to spoil the encounter for anyone, this is the spell in question and of course you will need to counter it if you want this achievement:
