Midnight Bounty

Feels undoable on my realm. I've seen over 20 bounty, and ALL of them disappeared in the following 10 seconds without dying. Don't know if they queue in followers dungeon or alt F4 to lose bounty, but they all do it.
It already feels like a waste of time to wait for a bounty to pop but this .. guessing the best way is to sub a second account to do it yourself, saving a lot of time and money.

I just completed this so I thought I'd write up a guide since it is one of the buggiest/annoying achievements to complete. I really hope Blizzard reevaluates these achievements before copy and pasting them again next expansion.

OPTION 1: The normal way to get bounties is to kill players who get bounties...pretty simple. However, I hunted for these a lot and I am based on US-Illidan (extremely high pop). Over the first few months of the expansion and getting ALL other world pvp achievements, I only got 2 total. The reason is the bounty buff is very easy to remove - I must have seen hundreds of them pop up only to disappear almost instantly.
- Bounties can simply relog to remove the effect. If they are more than ~half a map away you will never get them.
- Bounties can hearth
- Bounties can take a portal (e.g. the ones to harandar/void)
- Most bounties are in large raid groups. Crate farming is extremely efficient for conquest, so many groups are around. I'd say at least 80% of the bounties I saw were surrounded by 30+ people making them impossible to kill.

OPTION 2: The easier, but buggier way is to kill trade with a second account or a friend. For some reason getting the assassin buff (which you need to get a bounty) is unreliable. It should just be getting 10 kills but it isn't. I cannot be sure what the bug(s) actually are but there were a few things that helped:
- Do this in Slayer's Rise. Here the graveyards have a 30 second respawn timer. All of the other zones require you to fly to your body and for a 2 minute res timer, or use the spirit healer that puts a 1 minute debuff on you (makes you honorless and not count for assassin credit). The latter will rack up a lot of repair gold.
- Do not loot the bodies (have your friend release spirit) - every time I looted their body I was not getting credit.
- Alternate who is the killer getting the bounty. No idea why but I frequently could not get back to back assassin buffs, but if we swapped it would work more reliably.
- Always remove the bounty quest from your log before trying to get assassin again.
- Finally, you might need to zone out and zone back in. I found that using the voidstorm portal to Silvermoon was the best way - whenever I hearthed out and came back I would never get the assassin buff.

All in all I did the last 18 I needed with a friend, and due to the bugs I got over 400 HKs (i.e. about 40 attempts to get my assassin buff - <50% success rate). So be prepared for a grind one way or the other.
