Everyone (minimum of 10 guild members) need to be inside of the instance, but it's not necessary to be in the boss chamber at the time of the kill. You can confirm if it's a guild run checking the flag on the left side of the minimap.
Confirmed. 9 players didn't get us the guild crest. 10 players did. (All were in guild.)
