Preface: So I heard the tournament was hard, and decided to get into pet battles, which are so fun! Leveled my first pet to 25 9 days before attempting the tournament, so I knew I would have to have pretty perfect teams and little flexibility since I had few 25s. I thought I would share my teams, as research of other players strategies is the only reason I was able to be successful. Kudos to battlepetroundup and wowhead posters for the majority of these selections. Check out feckless leader's guide to getting started in pet battles if you're just learning about pet battles.

Wise Mari: Gilnean Raven 121, Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling 112, Mongoose 122 - by the skin of my teeth, but because I ate a crit on raven and couldn't refresh darkness before death. Peck, Call Darkness, Nocturnal Strike, Call Darkness again asap if possible. Decoy, spam Breath until dead. Avoid with dive. Don't forget survival.
Blingtron 4000: Water Strider 112, Panther Cub 112, Fel Flame 111. Ate crits on panther cub, fel flame felt close. Water jet, Pump, Pump when his armor is gone, else heal and jet. Prowl, Claw til dead. Immolate, Conflagrate when armor is gone, else burn.
Shademaster Kiryn: Restless Shadeling 121 (more shadow shock less self heal next time, dealt with a missed shadow shock) Terrible Turnip 212 (perfect counter), Anubisath Idol 211). Death and Decay, Shadow Shock until dead. Seed, sons of the root, wave spam until dead. Finish with demolish.

Wrathion: Grasslands Hopper, Anubisath, third strong vs dragonkin
Chen Stormstout: Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, Panther Cub, Water Strider
Taran Zhu: Maggot, Scourged Whelpling, Restless Shadeling

Sully: Shrine Fly, Panther Cub, Gilnean Raven
Dr. Ion Goldbloom: Celestial Dragon, Mechanical extra pet, Scourged Whelpling
Lorewalker Cho: Onyxian Whelpling/Celestial Dragon, Forest Spiderling or equivalent, Filler pet)

Xu-Fu: Tranquil Mechanical Yeti 112 and Schezuan Chicken 112 (must be SS) nearly two manned, after chicken died I Ion cannoned, make sure to iron fist instead (damage limit). Clockwork Gnome 111 lost half health finishing.
Zao: Skywisp Moth 212, Cogblade Raptor 211 (must be 274+ speed), Clockwork Gnome 111 (alive from Xu-Fu) Reckless strike, Cocoon strike, Call lightning, Swap to raptor, Exposed Wounds, Batter til dead (grab a second cogblade, or use Clockwork Gnome left from Xu-fu as back up).
Chi-Chi: Three Rare Rapana Whelks 111, dealt with a missed dive, so could be doable with 2 but my first two died. Easy to obtain pets. Acidic Goo, Ooze Touch, Dive, keep Acidic Goo up and Ooze touch spam, diving when Chi-Chi's Ethereal is up (uses it every time it's available).
Yu'la: Solo'd with Clock'em 112 Jab spam, dodge after Yu'la flies, though had Kun-Lai Runt 222 and Pandaren Monk 222 as back up.

24 25's, all rares unless labeled otherwise.
Gilnean Raven (uncommon) - purchase with worgen character, 1.5 hours to obtain with a brand new DK.
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (uncommon) - engineering
Mongoose - Townlong (could use Mongoose pup)
Water Strider - Vale (any strider with Water Jet, Self Heal, Pump)
Panther Cub - 30 minutes to obtain, quest in STV
Fel Flame - Shadowmoon Valley
Restless Shadeling - just log on at the right time with an alt
Grasslands Hopper - Townlong
Anubisath Idol - clear Temple of AQ ~20 minutes, extremely strong pet. A must have!
Maggot
Scourged Whelpling - semi-infrequent spawn in Icecrown, camp spawn area with an alt
Shrine Fly - Valley of 4 Winds
Celestial Dragon - 150 pets
Clockwork Gnome - archaeology - could take some time. Extremely strong pet. A must have!
Onyxian Whelpling - Spawn of Onyxia same thing
Forest Spiderling - Northern STV
Tranquil Mechanical Yeti (uncommon) - engineering
Schezuan Chicken (SS uncommon) - Kun-Lai
Skywisp Moth - Timeless Isle (fly up on mount in fatigue waters then slowfall down). ~30 minutes. Extremely strong pet.
Cogblade Raptor (274+ speed) - Blade's Edge - ~30 minutes (maybe grab 2, a good pet) Don't camp, just check in periodically.
Rapana Whelk x3 ~ 30-60 minutes to find 3 rares
Clock'Em - Brawl'Gar Arena - Could use Pandaren Monk 222 as substitute or possibly Kun-Lai Runt (Not sure about Kun Lai Runt - get 2 if you don't have access to Clock'Em or Pandaren Monk)

Please note, this guide includes pets purchased through the in-game store, so limited usefulness.
