Much like the Superbloom event, the items are rewarded as the players progress the event. However, unlike the Superbloom, the order is currently random. The epic book, Immaculate Tome, can be the very first possible reward during the event. It doesn't go green -> blue -> purple, it is random.
At the moment progress is also account-wide, so I was able to knock this out with 2 accounts over 3 dig events.
I've done the event over a dozen times and I'm still stuck missing "Dusty Niffen Tome". :(
