You get this achievement if you killed Prince Tenris Mirkblood in Karazan and looted Vampiric Batling / learned Vampiric Batling.Prince Tenris MirkBlood was a WotLK opening event boss, so you are unable to get Vampiric Batling anymore.

The bat was 100% drop rate. The prince was only available from October 22nd to November 4th (removed with patch 3.0.3).
The patch that released this achievement was on the 21st. Everybody who got the batling will show that they have "earned" the achievement on the 21st.
