Bwonsamdi, the Loa of Death, takes the place of the Spirit Healer in graveyards while on the continent of Zandalar. He will talk sass to you when you release and appear in front of him.

He also plays a part in the storyline in Nazmir. We interact with him at his temple, the Necropolis.

He's pretty interesting as he seems to have a special line for each class when dead.

Demon hunter: "Something about ya seem off...Ah, da stench of a demon hunter."
Druid: "Ya not be dreaming now, mon."
Death knight: "Ah, a death knight. Ya should come see MY death gate!"
Hunter: "Ya be tryin' ta feign death, mon? Shame..."
Mage: "Dat blink didn't get ya very far, did it?"
Monk: "Hah! Ya didn't roll out of dat one."
Paladin: "I think ya followed da wrong light, mon."
Priest: "Oh, a priest! If ya ever consider a change of faith, you be sure to let old Bwonsamdi know, ya hear?"
Rogue: "Ya can't be hidin' from Bwonsamdi, little ting."
Shaman: "Oh, da spirits with with ya now, mon."
Warlock: "Awww, did ya lose your little shiny soulstone, eh?"
Warrior: "All that armor...didn't help ya much, did it?"

Abilities & Strategy

Overview

King Rastakhan calls upon his retinue of bodyguards to defend him and his throne room. After Rastakhan's bodyguards have been dispatched, Rastakhan calls upon his Loa, Bwonsamdi, to come and aid him. When Rastakhan reaches 60% health he demands that Bwonsamdi empowers him, causing Bwonsamdi to transfer a portion of his Death power into Rastakhan. After the transfer, Bwonsamdi shifts to the death realm, pulling the closest half of the party with him. Once Bwonsamdi is taken to 50% he abandons Rastakhan and teleports all players in the death realm to the realm of the living to finish the fight with Rastakhan.
