This is based on norse mythology like most of this Valkyr stuff is.
The ferryman that transported the dead to the realm of death in norse mythology is decriped as "Greybeard"
A poem where Thor and Odin meets this ferryman is called "Hárbardsljóð" - which literally meens "The song of Greybeard/Hárbarðr".
The name of "Greybeard" in this poem is also Hárbarðr (close resemblance to Harbaron)Only kings and jarls were given a ship to sail to the realm of death; the rest of the normal norse were burned (and later burried) and had to sail with the ferryman and not a "real" ship. That would be too expensive to waste a ship everytime someone died. The dead are left with a silvercoin to pay the ferryman.
Niflheim is the area right under Yggdrasil where the god "Hel" - (daughter of Loke and Angerbodes, sister to the Midgard serpent and fenriswolf - and again, close resemblance to Helya) is thrown down by Odin to rule 9 worlds inhabited by those who dies of disease and old age.
Hel herself livs in a big mansion in Hel (Hel is both the name of the godess and the 9 realms) named Helheimn (Same as where Helya is in wow). Her stuff is all named after bad fortune - like her knive is named Starvation and her table is named Hunger. She lives with her dog Garm (yep..) and 2 slaves.
Nagelfar is the name of the ship Hel is building to sail back to Midgaard to invoke Ragnarock
Hel is descriped as being half blue-ish and half "normal" colored in her skin. Maybe "Greybeard" is the same?
It was roumered that under Niflheim - or the deepest of the 9 worlds - were an even worse and dark place named Niflhel.
So we have Harbaron (Hárbarðr) sailing on Nagelfar in Helheim on his way to Helya (Hel)
