Confirmed 6/8/2008 from a GM that blood garnet and all other green gems drop rate has been greatly reduced from mining drops. I haven't gotten one in over 400 fel iron ores. The only way to get the green gems now is from prospecting ores.
Just got one from a Khorium Vein http://www.wowhead.com/?object=181557 , so they do still drop.Green gems were re-added to mining nodes in 2.4.3, previous comments were from 2.4.2.
Pretty sure by green gem he meant green rarity, as this blood garnet is.
