Bulging Barrel of Oil

Correct, but what i wanna know is, do we need so much oil. The only reason i can think of to send to and alt is, that it just started the shipment but still we have so much of it.

It's good for sending to alts who don't get out to Tanan as much.

Based on the icon representing this item, it doesn't appear to be bulging, just looks like any "ordinary" barrel of oil.

we see only half the barrel. perhaps it's bulging at the bottom. ;)

I actually have a Post-It note that comes out when I get this mission that says [i][b]"Don't Use The Barrel"[/b][/i], meaning it goes directly into the bank for later. There's nothing worse than losing one or even two ships on a failed mission. These barrels soften the blow when I can pull them out and immediately replace my losses.

unless you are capped at 100K oil, I fail to see why you just wouldn't use it and add to the stockpile instead of holding it in your bank and taking up a slot.

I expect the shipping system to be as dead as the farm in Valley of the Four Winds when the next expansion comes out, but gold will always be useful. So I sold mine for 2k gold.

when I sent this to my alt before she even had a garrison, she was able to use it. once she got a garrison she was getting follower missions for oil right off the hop.

now I don't know if this is because my main has a shipyard, or because the alt used the oil, or because everybody gets oil missions now, regardless of having a shipyard. I'm looking for confirmation on this.

she has almost 1000 oil and still doesn't have a shipyard. It's definitely nice to stockpile oil ahead of time so you can get your fleet off to a running start when it opens up.

I can confirm to you, that characters with a level 3 garrison gets oil missions, regardless of Shipyards being present.

250 Oil is not a Bulging Barrel, when you get 600 from the Tanaan Daily. At best, it's a Half Full Barrel of Oil.

is there anything else like this that grants more than 250 oil?
