Majestic Zircon

This is the WotLK version of the Empyrean Sapphire, the epic blue gem. Already in the game files, it has been officially introduced in patch 3.2.0, when it can be obtained in the following ways:

• 
  
• prospected from Titanium Ore;
• 
  
• created by an alchemical transmutation using 1 Sky Sapphire and 1 Eternal Air;
• 
  
• sometimes found inside an Icy Prism created by a jewelcrafter;
• 
  
• bought for 20 Emblems of Heroism from Arcanist Ivrenne, Magistrix Lambriesse, or Harold Winston in Dalaran;
• 
  
• exchanged for 10,000 honor points from Captain O'Neal in Stormwind or Lady Palanseer in Orgrimmar.
• 
  

Majestic Zircon can be cut in the following variations by a 450 Jewelcrafter (the respective designs can be bought from Timothy Jones in Dalaran, Inessera and Nemiha on the Aldor's Rise and Kirembri Silvermane on the Scryers' Tier in Shattrath for 4 Dalaran's Jewelcrafter's Tokens each):

• Solid Majestic Zircon: +30 Stamina;

• Sparkling Majestic Zircon: +20 Spirit;
• 
  
• Lustrous Majestic Zircon: +10 Mana every 5 seconds;
• 
  
• Stormy Majestic Zircon: +25 Spell Penetration.

• Epic gem transmutations now have a 20-hour cooldown.

• Majestic Zircon now costs 20 Emblems of Heroism, up from 15.

• Transmute: Majestic Zircon now requires 1 Sky Sapphire and 1 Eternal Air instead of 3 Sky Sapphires.

The following gems can be transmuted by an Alchemist without a cooldown. The link is to a blue post confirming what Alchemists on the PTR are experiencing. I have xmuted dozens in a row and the lack of CD is not a bug. So, expect the epic gems to come more into a reasonable line as far as prices go after a few weeks of the patch.

(6/30/09) Build 10048: The 20 hour CD has been placed on epic xmutes and significant changes have been made to the materials required. The information below has been updated as of the stated build.

(8/6/08) Live Patch 3.2.0: Changed the Eye of Zul requirements to reflect the state which the patch was taken live.

Once you hit the 232 gear you're gonna have more emblems of conquest than you know what to do with. If you arena a lot you won't need PvP gear and you probably already bought BoA items before 3.2, meaning unless you have some offspec gear to grab you're going to have a reliable source of cash while you farm the daily heroic.
