Raid boss strategy guide
Fallen-King Salhadaar Raid Guide (The Voidspire)
Beat Fallen-King Salhadaar in The Voidspire: stop void orbs, handle Fractured Images, aim Shattering Twilight and burn Entropic Unraveling.
Overview
- Concentrated Void orbs float toward Salhadaar, and one reaching him is effectively a wipe. Killing them fast, without killing two at once on Heroic and up, is the core of the fight.
- Tanks: kite the boss away from orbs, aim
Shattering Twilight away from the raid, and swap on
Destabilizing Strikes. - DPS: orbs first, then interrupt or crowd control every Fractured Image, then save burst for
Entropic Unraveling. - Healers: dispel
Despotic Command only after the target has left the group, then heal through the healing absorb it leaves.
Fallen-King Salhadaar is one of the two mid-raid bosses of The Voidspire, the Midnight Season 1 raid, and can be killed before or after Vorasius. In Raid Finder he sits in the Weapons of the Void wing alongside Imperator Averzian and Vorasius.
Fallen-King Salhadaar
Abilities
Void Convergence: the Riftlabs machinery releases Concentrated Void orbs from two portals. They drift toward Salhadaar and must die before they reach him.
Void Infusion: if an orb reaches him, he absorbs it and is empowered. Treat it as a wipe.
Dark Radiation: on Heroic and Mythic, every orb you kill puts a stacking damage over time on the whole raid.
Fractured Projection: spawns Fractured Images that cast
Shadow Fracture, which leaves a puddle on the ground if it finishes. Interrupt or crowd control them.
Shattering Twilight: a star pattern drawn around the tank. After a short delay,
Twilight Spikes erupt along those lines across the room.
Despotic Command: marks several players with a circle that pulses damage on anyone near them. When dispelled it drops a pool and applies
Oppressive Darkness, a healing absorb.
Destabilizing Strikes: every auto attack adds a stack of this debuff to the tank.
Entropic Unraveling: at 100 energy he stands still and channels for 20 seconds, taking increased damage while
Umbral Beams rotate around him. Touching a beam deals heavy damage every second.
Phases
Boss phase. Energy rises steadily. In between, you handle orb waves, Fractured Images, Shattering Twilight and Despotic Command.
Entropic Unraveling (100 energy). The boss plants himself, rotating beams sweep around him and he takes increased damage. Avoid the beams and unload cooldowns, then return to the boss phase.
Tank
- Swap at around 8 stacks of Destabilizing Strikes, or when the stacks fall off.
- Kite Salhadaar away from incoming orbs. Confident groups can keep him close enough that DPS cleave orbs and boss together, but distance is the safe default.
- Point Shattering Twilight so its lines run away from the raid. Keep the area around the boss clear.
- As energy nears 100, move the boss toward the edge of the room, leaving a small gap, so the beams sweep over less of the floor the raid needs.
- The boss cannot be moved for a few seconds during Shattering Twilight. Create distance from the nearest orb before it starts.
Healer
- Dispel Despotic Command once the player has run to the edge, then top them through Oppressive Darkness.
- Dark Radiation is a short stacking damage over time effect (about 8 seconds per Icy Veins). On Heroic and Mythic, expect a spike after each orb kill and ask for orbs to be killed one at a time.
- Entropic Unraveling is the big damage window. Assign a raid cooldown to each one.
DPS
- Swap to Concentrated Void immediately. On Heroic and above, kill one, wait for Dark Radiation to expire, then kill the other.
- Every Fractured Image must be interrupted or crowd controlled. Below Mythic, a completed Shadow Fracture leaves a puddle behind (Method calls it permanent on Heroic), so every miss shrinks the room.
- Entropic Unraveling does not line up with a standard two minute rhythm. Hold a cooldown if needed so it is ready for the damage amp.
Difficulty notes
- Normal: orbs, images, Shattering Twilight on the tank and Despotic Command.
- Heroic: orb kills apply Dark Radiation, so stagger them. Shattering Twilight bounces to several extra players after the tank. Those players run away from the group and aim their lines clear of the melee clump. The tank's star always detonates first.
- Mythic: killed orbs stay in the room as Enduring Void and come back with less health on every later Void Convergence, still wiping the raid if they reach the boss. Tanks kite so orbs die in one area and reactivate already grouped for cleave. Killing the returning orbs does not add extra Dark Radiation. Some Fractured Images spawn behind
Nexus Shield and cannot be interrupted until other Images are kicked first, so interrupts need a set order, and a single completed cast wipes the raid. The boss enrages after the third Entropic Unraveling, so plan to kill him by then.

Common mistakes
- Letting a single orb reach the boss, often because he was planted in Shattering Twilight next to one.
- Killing both orbs at once on Heroic and stacking Dark Radiation on the whole raid.
- Dispelling Despotic Command while the player is still standing in the raid.
- Pointing Shattering Twilight lines through the group.
- Spending cooldowns right before 100 energy and having nothing for Entropic Unraveling.
Mechanics checked against: icy-veins.com, method.gg, warcraft.wiki.gg. Ability names and spell IDs come from TheWoWDB's own client datamine.
