Field Mages! is a "breadcrumb quest" that will direct you to NPCs Callisto Windsor & Steria Duskgrove.
With Callisto Windsor & Steria Duskgrove starts a quest line called: Slyvern Plunge, which is part of achievement Sojourner of Azure Span.
Really stupid quest line. I liked most of the quests I've done so far, but this whole line was vapid.
You get no rep except 400 Vald rep at the very last quest. Doubt I'll do it again.
As far as getting this questline you either pick up a starter quest in Rhonin's Shield or you just can go directly to them.
I saw them and the starter quest before doing the Grimtusk quest, so I don't think that's a requirement. I suspect doing Artifacts in the Wrong Hands may be the requirement for the starter quest to show up in Rhonin's.

Lok'tar, {race}. If you have the time, we have two mages doing fieldwork nearby who I'm sure could use a hand. This is a dangerous land in the best of times. These are not the best of times.
