Population Control is a quest for level 10-70. It rewards 1 reward item, 2 reputation rewards and 9,500 experience.
Recently there has been an overpopulation of a few different species on the Dragon Isles. In particular, the rockfang and the bruffalon.
We don't want to be wasteful, of course. Be sure to collect as much of the hides as you can from the creatures.

Tried all of the suggestions in the comments. The drop rates were terrible. Did a WQ by Fork River Crossing in Ohn'ahran Plains, killed some Forkriver Bulls and Pinehoofs and they dropped like crazy. Had the last 15 I needed in 10 mins. it's a large area with lots of spawns. Especially around...
/way Ohn'ahran Plains 76, 86 Population Control
Killing Spotted Prowlers and Young Prowlers in the area just northeast of Marukkai got me all 25 hides within a couple minutes (hunter with barrage pulled everything).
/way Ohn'ahran Plains 67.4 36.5 Prowlers for Salvaged Hide
... all of these quests friggin suck. I shouldn't have to look this up on Wowhead to not have to waste 5 hours on random quest areas.
/way Ohn'ahran Plains 76, 86 Population Control
works great, though.
