Just click the mob in the area you prefer and you'll see where in that area they are.
As of the latest patch, the ivory will also drop off of mammoths, which lets you do this quest on the western coast of Northrend now. How is this a "Bad Comment?" It now says RIGHT IN THE QUEST DESCRIPTION that you can now get the drop from mammoths. Investigate before you downrate.
