Got stuck on this quest today. Two spiders kept bouncing off the bubble and evading. I saw comments here there that said "Turn off War Mode and it'll work".
I was never in War Mode, so I tried turning it on. Behold the quest worked.

So my conclusion is... if you are stuck on this quest try turning War Mode ON or OFF.

Anyone else get ported out of the room during the ambush? Super strange...

Edit: Sorry, I should be clear.
I got teleported out of the room while in Talanji's bubble of light, had to run back inside and continue the quest. I did so with no issue, no relog, no reload, no switching War Modes or anything.
I've reported this in game as a bug :)

Description

Now that you see who I have chosen for my council, it is time to receive their blessing. It is a symbolic demonstration of support, but I believe there is power in words as well as deeds. When they declare themselves to me, de eyes of de loa are also upon them. I hope they like what they see, {name}. I know I do.
