I waited for him on the rune but he kept flying over just out of range, then I attacked some mobs nearby at 54 56 and then he came down to the ground and I could target him.
I've been farming this guy for a few months now for Praetor's Greatsword - I find the best spot to stand and pull him is 52.82 52.09 on top of the rock, after 1 pass it seems to trigger a landing for him and he flies almost in melee range
