Securing a Foothold is a quest for level 45 in Antoran Wastes. It is step 2 of 6 in The Heart of Argus storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Antoran Wastes at 72.9, 50.3. It rewards 6,150 experience and money.

Description

Alleria and I have scouted this area before, alongside some of our best soldiers. We stationed encampments on either side of our current position, but I fear they will have come under heavy attack. They need reinforcements.

Our first order of business is to set up a teleportation beacon directly below the Vindicaar. From there, we will have access to both fronts.

Speak to Romuul when you are ready to head down to the surface.

Ok, if you are like me and you were stuck in the first zone forever and did not realize how to continue the quest line:
Look on your map and you will see multiple vindicaars on the map, once you complete enough of the previous questline, the end of Krokuun is when you link the new spell ability to the Matrix core.

once you do that, you are expected to click on the teleport pad thing and travel to the new zone, once there a new quest opens

So summary, if you are stuck and don't know how to continue the Argus story, click the teleporter, is there another ship visible? If so, go there

FYI if you are coming back to finish this quest in 2021 you have to go to Dalaran and use the Lightforged Beacon to get back to Argus. It is located on the same platform as the flight master.

I spent several hours trying to find a portal back to Argus on various occasions before randomly stumbling up on it, as it's not documented anywhere that I could find.
