In the Character Creator

The client's own ChrRaces row names Druid as this race's default class, which is the specialization the character creator lands on before you touch anything.
Azeroth's bestiary files Night Elf under the Humanoid creature type, the same classification the game uses on every NPC that shares the body.

Appearance Options

The character creator ships 25 distinct appearance options for Night Elf, 20 on Body Type 1 and 22 on Body Type 2, worth 436 individual settings between them.
Body Type 1 alone carries 213 of those settings.
Body Type 2 alone carries 223 of those settings.
Eye Color is the widest single slider at 30 settings.
Body Type 1 is the only one with Sideburns, Mustache and Beard.
Body Type 2 is the only one with Markings Color, Headdress, Earrings, Nose Ring and Necklace.

Who Is Playing Night Elf

Our rated PvP crawl currently holds 51,386 Night Elf characters, the 1st largest of the 26 races it has seen.
The classes they play most are Druid (14,843, 29%), Demon Hunter (8,352, 16%), Rogue (7,179, 14%), Hunter (5,775, 11%) and Priest (4,924, 10%).
10 different classes appear on Night Elf characters in that sample.
The body split across those characters is 71% female and 29% male.
In the Mythic Plus crawl, 3,038 ranked runs were set by Night Elf characters, the deepest key among them a plus 21 and the best Mythic Plus rating 3,947.

These are counts from our own rated PvP and Mythic Plus crawls, last refreshed 2026-11-05. They say who is playing the race right now. They are not the character creator's list of allowed classes: the client keeps that in CharBaseInfo, which this datamine does not carry, so a class missing from the list above only means nobody in the sample is playing it.
