Where the reagents come from
Lion Meat. No recipe, Blizzard quest reward or dungeon journal drop in our game data produces it. Also a required reagent in 1 other recipe (1 Cooking); Tasty Lion Steak takes the most, 2 per craft.

Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 1 reagent for one craft of Hot Lion Chops cost 15 gold99 silver.
Break-even is 16 gold83 silver - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 214 gold67 silver, which clears it.
At that listed price the gross margin before fees is 198 gold68 silver; the Auction House would keep 10 gold73 silver of a sale, leaving 187 gold94 silver. That is an estimated 1175.4% return on the gold you put into reagents, after the cut has taken 5.4% of the gross.
Listing depth right now: 37 units across 4 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
