Safety Switch quality ranks
Safety Switch comes in 3 quality ranks, and each rank is its own item on the Auction House. The recipe’s base crafting difficulty is 410.
| Rank | Item | Lowest listed price | Listings (US) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rank 1 | Safety Switch | 35 gold54 silver | 24 listings, 184 units |
| Rank 2 | Safety Switch | 26 gold98 silver | 65 listings, 7,576 units |
| Rank 3 | Safety Switch | 68 gold85 silver | 23 listings, 5,129 units |
The crafting estimate above is the base comparison: rank 1 reagents against the rank 1 result. Your skill and the reagents’ ranks decide which rank a craft actually makes, so a higher rank is never priced against rank 1 reagents here. Right now rank 1 lists above rank 2, so a craft that comes out at a higher rank is worth less at today’s listings, not more.

Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 3 reagents for one craft of Safety Switch cost 43 gold56 silver. Most of that is Bismuth - 5 at 8 gold each, 40 gold, 91.8% of the whole basket. Watch that one price and you have watched most of this recipe.
Break-even is 45 gold85 silver - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 35 gold54 silver, which does not clear it.
The crafted item currently lists for less than its reagents cost: −8 gold2 silver before fees, and the Auction House would still take 1 gold77 silver of a sale, so a craft loses 9 gold79 silver at these prices. At current listings, buying the crafted item costs less than making it. That is an estimated -22.5% return on the gold you put into reagents.
Listing depth right now: 184 units across 24 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
