Where the reagents come from
Light Parchment. No recipe, Blizzard quest reward or dungeon journal drop in our game data produces it. Also a required reagent in 307 other recipes (296 Inscription, 8 Enchanting and 3 Engineering); Codex of the Clear Mind takes the most, 200 per craft.
Roseate Pigment. Rewarded by the quests Control is Key and Control is Key. Also a required reagent in 96 other recipes (94 Inscription and 2 Tailoring); the most per craft: Straszan Mark (Inscription, 130 per craft), Aqual Mark (Inscription, 100 per craft), Songs of the Alliance (Inscription, 100 per craft), Songs of the Horde (Inscription, 100 per craft) and Glyph of Crackling Ox Lightning (Inscription, 70 per craft).

Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 2 reagents for one craft of Scroll of Forgotten Knowledge cost 86 gold47 silver. Most of that is Roseate Pigment - 35 at 2 gold47 silver each, 86 gold45 silver, 100.0% of the whole basket. Watch that one price and you have watched most of this recipe.
Break-even is 91 gold2 silver - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 30 gold, which does not clear it.
The crafted item currently lists for less than its reagents cost: −56 gold47 silver before fees, and the Auction House would still take 1 gold50 silver of a sale, so a craft loses 57 gold97 silver at these prices. At current listings, buying the crafted item costs less than making it. That is an estimated -67.0% return on the gold you put into reagents.
Listing depth right now: 71 units across 8 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
